Most Alaska College Goal Sunday events will begin at 2:00 pm on January 31, 2010. However, the time may vary by location, so make sure to check the time listed for your location on the map above.
CGS events will also be taking place on various dates after January 31st including Tok, Wales, Shismaref, and Savoonga. Please contact your Alaska statewide coordinator Christina Campbell for more information 907-269-7981.
Get Ready
The FAFSA is the first and most important step for federal, state, and even some private financial aid. However, completing the form correctly with detailed income, tax, and other information can be a daunting task. To surmount the financial barriers to higher education, many must first clear those hurdles.
Go to FAFSA online and apply for a PIN code before attending College Goal Sunday. You should also gather all required documents, and any additional documents you think may be relevant.
What to Bring
You will need to bring the following:
- Social security number (can be found on social security card)
- Alien registration card (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
- Driver's license (if any)
- 2009 W-2 Forms and other records of money earned
- 2009 untaxed income records including social security, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, welfare or veterans benefits records
Other important recent income information could include:
- 2009 bank statements
- 2009 business and investment mortgage information, business and farm records, stock, bond and/or other investment records
